Clydesdale Harriers General meeting
Friday 15th March 2024 – Minutes
Clydebank Leisure Centre 7.00 p.m.
1. Attendance. P.Rudzinski, J.Wright,, G.Kennedy, P.McCrossan, R.Paxton, E.Paxton, J.Hanratty.
2. Apologies, D.Rothin, D.Mitchell, W.Jones.
3. Minutes of previous Meeting. The minutes were read and accepted as correct, moved by J.Wright and seconded by G.K.
4. Matters Arising. PR to ask Livingston AAC for details of annual/recurring club fees they have managed to collate. PR to provide Brian McAusland with a CD copy of club minutes, for the club archives.
5. Treasurer’s Report. Monthly reports for January and February were read by JW and approved by GK and JH. JW presented details of projected cash flow figures for the club, which he will update regularly for us.
6. Correspondence. All distributed electronically as received.
7. Junior Section. Numbers attending training nights are still on the increase. The club XC champs were held at Knightswood park, with limited numbers attending, but overall the event went well. We now are preparing for the forthcoming track leagues – YDL and C&SSAL, hopefully with good turnouts of participants (and officials). It seems likely that this year’s Balloch Highland Games will not go ahead due to budget cuts by WDC. Some behavioural issues with some of the young athletes will be monitored and appropriate action taken if it becomes necessary.
8. OCB. A. Website. The website development is ongoing. We need to ensure that events are advertised and results are posted. B. Club Presentation Night.Venue is likely to be St.Stephens church hall but as yet, no date Has been arranged. C. Track Hire. The track at the school,will be hired for Thursday nights during the summer. D. Club vests and training gear. We will continue to use Walters for this, and continue to seek a source where the individual members can order (and pay for) their own stuff. E. Grants. JW has applied for a grant of £350 for a storage container for club equipment. F. PR noted that we have some donated trophies which have yet to be allocated. In particular, the John Hume Memorial trophy, which was donated by John’s sister. She is keen to see it being awarded, hopefully soon.
9. Date of Next Meeting. Friday 17th May 2024.
