CLYDESDALE HARRIERS
REPORT FOR THE CENTRAL AND SOUTH OF SCOTLAND ATHLETICS LEAGUE MATCH
HELD AT CROWNPOINT STADIUM GLASGOW
Sunday 10TH August 2025
PROMOTION FOR CLYDESDALE
The weather for the last CSSAL match at Crownpoint Stadium was beautiful, it was hot and sunny and perfect conditions for athletes.
The club were looking for a good performance to gain promotion to the second division and, hopefully even winning the division.Alas, that was not to be the case and in the end we fell short of winning the league by 6 points, yes, just 6 points but by finishing second we are now promoted to the second division.
There were excellent performances throughout the day and a number of first places in both A and B events.
In the Girls and Womens events Eilidh Haggerty continued her excellent form with a win in the U15 100m, Eilidh also competed in the long jump and the 800m and is a great all round competitor for the club.
Young Sarah Stewart won the B event in the under 11 80m.
The above performances were well backed up by Lily Duncan in the 100m, 800m and Long Jump, Lily is another of those athletes along with Mirren Grieves, Sarah Stewart, Leyla Keirstad and Jade Milne who competed across many events for the club, some outwith their comfort zone but they gain vital points for the club.
A special mention too for Harper McCarroll, competing in her first CSSAL match and producing fine performances in the 100m and Long Jump.
In the Boys and Mens events Riley O’Hare and Cameron Moore produced fine performances in 80m, 800m and Long Jump.
Emmanuel Banton and Rafael Johnson won their respective Under 17 100m and 400m A and B events and continue to show great improvement.
Daniel Docherty and Ruaridh King won the Senior Mens 400m A and B events.
Iain Robertson won both the 100m and 800m Master events with Darren Dunn winning the 100m B race for Masters.
Special mention to Michael Diver and Ryan Nelson who gained vital points in the Masters 3000m and Sen Mens 3000m respectively and to Daniel Docherty, Daniel is another of our club athletes who compete across many disciplines for the club and today he gained vital points in the 100m, 400m 800m, long jump and discus, well done Daniel.
Finally, a fantastic effort by all our athletes and promotion to the Second Division.
