CLYDESDALE HARRIERS

REPORT FOR THE CENTRAL AND SOUTH OF SCOTLAND

ATHLETICS LEAGUE MATCH

HELD AT GRANGEMOUTH SPORTS STADIUM

Sunday 1 st June 2025

The weather for the start of the second CSSAL match at Grangemouth was horrific
with heavy rain covering the track with a few inches of water as the match got
underway.
The club were looking for a good performance to consolidate our challenge for
promotion after winning the opening match back in April.
Despite the poor conditions, and a some of our regular athletes not competing, there
were excellent performances throughout the day and a number of first places in both
A and B events.
In the Girls and Womens events Eilidh Haggerty continued her excellent form with
wins in the 75m Hurdles and the 200m while there was also a first place for Jade
Milne in the Senior Womens 200m.
A special mention for Myah Kwiatkoska and Lily Duncan who with Eilidh Haggerty
competed over the hurdles. This is a difficult technical event and the girls did really
well.
The above performances were well backed up by Mirren Grieves, Sarah Stewart,
Layla Keirstead, Chloe Murray and Emily Paxton in their respective events.
In the Boys and Mens events Iain Robertson won both the 200m and 1500m Master
events with Darren Dunn winning the 200m B race for Masters. Raphael Johnson
and Emmanuel Banton had good wins in the under 17 200m A and B events.
In the field events there some fine wins for Raphael and Emmanuel who won both A
and B events in Under 17 Long Jump, Raphael jumping a fine 5.80m. Daniel
Docherty and Tom Humphrey won both A and B Shot Putt and Tom continued a fine
debut for the club by winning the Long Jump A event and Daniel the Long Jump B
event.
There were also point winning performances from Riley O’Hare, Cameron Moore,
Tony Dolan, Ryan Nelson and Michael Diver.
A special mention to all our athletes on a really wet and windy day, particularly to our
younger athletes many of whom had to stand out in the rain waiting for their event to
be called. However, they were well rewarded when the club finished second overall

on the day meaning that we go into the last match in August joint first and still with a
real chance of promotion.
