Young Athletes Road Races

Entries close at 5pm on Thursday 29th February 2024. No late entries will be accepted.

All athletes must compete for their first claim (Scottish) club or their school/university club (if affiliated).

Athletes who compete in a scottishathletics championship MUST be current members of scottishathletics on the day of the race. Individuals or Team managers will not be able to enter athletes without a valid membership online, so it is important that membership validity is checked well in advance of the closing date. There will be no entry extensions for membership renewals.

Competition Information

Approximate race distances for each age group are as follows:

• U13 – 3km
• U15 – 4km
• U17 – 5km

Medals

Individual medals are awarded to the first three in each category.  

Team Medals –3 to count

London Mini Marathon Selection Information

The Scottish team for each age group (U15 & U17) travelling to the London Mini Marathon will be selected based on the first 4 athletes across the line in this event. There will also be 2 discretionary spots that will be selected based on eligibility and current form.  Age groupings for the London Mini Marathon are U15 dob 01/09/08 – 31/08/10 and U17 dob 01/09/06 – 31/08/08
