Saturday 29th November saw the running of the Dunbartonshire AAA Cross Country Championships at Balloch Park, Balloch The, now familiar, venue at Balloch Park, proved a testing challenge with a mixture of undulating terrain.
The weather overhead was absolutely ideal for cross country running although some parts of the course were quite heavy following the rainfall during the week.
In the Seniors Mens Race Michael Miller had a great run, Michael led the field through the opening lap then drifted back to third place although he was well in touch until the final lap. He produced a strong final lap and finished 3rd overall in the Seniors Race, a very good performance.
In the Senior Womens Race Jade Milne had another fine performance and despite losing the sole of her shoe put in a great effort to finish 8th overall in a time of 40min 50secs.

In the Under 11 girls race Mirren Grieves kept up her very good form with a great run finishing 2nd overall in a time of 7mins 42secs. Mirren was backed up very well by Abigail Cross (8min 38secs) and a very gutsy run by young Emma Currie (11.08secs).
It should be said that some of our youngsters were a wee bit under the weather with the ‘cold bug’ that is doing the rounds so well done to all of them.
Well done to all our athletes.
A few pictures from the race – apologies if I didn’t get everybody.
